Try Try Again
Outline: … Robert Bruce…. Lying in a cave in great despair… failed to defeat his enemy to free his people…. Was thinking of giving up the attempt… was a spider falling down from the dome… wondered how it would get there…. Made nine brave attempts… but failed… it tried again and again and succeeded…. Robert bruce took hear tried and succeeded.
Robert burce was the king of Scotland. He wanted to make his people happy and free but he could not turn out the English from his country He tried many attempts but in vain. He hated insects and spiders. But there he was surrounded by them. And saw a spider falling from cobweb. It tried to climb but it fell before it could reach the dome which was very high. It tried nine times but failed. The king thought it would give up in despair. The kind did but the spider did not. It tried again and succeeded.
All honor to those who try. Cried the king. He took heart collected a large army attacked the English forces and defeated them. At last he was able to make his people happy and free.
198. The Fox Who Had Lost His Tail
Outline: .. A fox caught in a trap… escapes but loses his tail… fees ashmed…. Can't mix with others…. Life a burden…. Hits upon a plan…. Gather other foxes .. says it is now fashion to have no tail…..it looks much better … other foxes find out the truth… they laugh away his scheme.
Once a sly fox was caught in a trap He tried to escape uninjured but lost his tail in making he preferred death to such a wretched life. At last he thought of making the most of a bad bargain. He prepared a scheme and was sure that it would work well. He called a meeting of the foxes and told them that their tails were a nuisance and a burden the sooner they get rid of their tails the better. They would be much better smarter and lighter.
One of the older foxes at last saw through the game and said if you had not lost your own tail you would not have advised us to cut off ours. The scheme fell through and his plans were frustrated.
